Is it open source? Yes, MIT licence.

Does it need a GPU? No. It is CPU-only.

Can it return wrong data? It is designed not to: success requires SHA-256 and Merkle verification. The decoder evaluations reported from V6 to V9 record 0 false success (simulated).

Is there a hosted service? No.
