Benchmark
VNX-Secure simulated attack scenarios
Simulated
- Result
- 10 / 10 included scenarios detected and contained; 0 findings over 270 benign requests; median detection 4.2 ms, recovery 12.1 ms (scenarios)
- Classification
- Software-generated DNA strands passed through a software channel model. Not a laboratory result.
- Methodology
- `vnx security simulate` runs each scenario through detection, containment and recovery; overhead measured on gated reads (+0.92 ms per chunk read). Hypothesis fuzzing: 25,100 examples, 0 failing.
- Dataset
- The ten scenarios shipped with VNX-Secure, plus a benign workload of 270 requests.
- Configuration
- In-process control plane with 16 detectors; synthetic events only; deterministic clock.
- Environment
- Development host: shared VPS, Intel Xeon Gold 6240 @ 2.60 GHz, 4 cores / 8 threads, Ubuntu 24.04, Python 3.12, CPU only. Single process, single host.
- Limitations
- Every scenario was written by the developers. This is validation against the included simulated scenarios, not a guarantee against real attackers or real traffic. No independent audit or certification.
- Version
