Benchmark
Outer code under i.i.d. strand loss (V6 product code)
Simulated
- Result
- 20 / 20 seeds decoded up to 16 % strand loss (V5 code: 7 %), at redundant-strand overhead 0.249 vs 0.251 (% strand loss tolerated)
- Classification
- Software-generated DNA strands passed through a software channel model. Not a laboratory result.
- Methodology
- Sweep of strand-loss rate; a point counts only if every seed decodes exactly.
- Dataset
- 20 seeds per loss rate, i.i.d. strand loss.
- Configuration
- V6 product code (opt-in) vs the V5 outer code.
- Environment
- Development host: shared VPS, Intel Xeon Gold 6240 @ 2.60 GHz, 4 cores / 8 threads, Ubuntu 24.04, Python 3.12, CPU only.
- Limitations
- i.i.d. loss only; real dropout is not i.i.d. The product code is opt-in.
- Version
- V6
